We are South East Professional Women Association of Nigeria and Diaspora
We stand to eradicate all forms of violence (rape, sex trade, human trafficking, molestation etc) on the girl child and to empower women through small scale trading, skill acquisition and farming.
SEPWAND is a non -profit and non -political Association. Our membership is open to South East women who-
i.
Have a minimum of a First Degree in any field of learning; or
ii.
Are members of any professional body; or
iii. Are retired professionals.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The aims and objectives of the
Association are:
a. To work toward the improvement of economic development, employment,
and social conditions for women in the South East.
b. To
develop better work ethics and integrity of purpose in all works of life and
for high quality service delivery in professional and public life and to
encourage women to participate in the business of government at all levels.
c. To work towards restoring the
hard work and integrity our region used to be known for.
d. To encourage and assist women and youths in
general to understand the impact of sound education and integrity to their
sustainable success, and our girls to acquire further education and training in
order to be self-sufficient.
e. To affiliate with other credible organizations to
promote mutual interests of women, our young girls and children, with emphasis
on violence against women in the form of sex slavery (baby factory), child
destitution, persons with
disability and special needs, and all forms of discrimination against women.
f. To lobby
for change in law and practice which will achieve economic equity and economic
security for women, and to work for change in attitudes which will bring about
equality of opportunity for women in education, employment and participation in
public and political roles.
g.To advocate measures that will bring
infrastructural development in the region, and to make the region the hub of
industrial development and economically strong.
h. To
recognize and promote the varied abilities and accomplishments of its
membership and to encourage the development of the career and leadership
aspirations of women and youths.
i. To
be a point of reference for the contribution of women and youths in the
economic and social growth and development of the south east.
